There is also going to be an INFORMATIONAL PARENT MEETING on Wednesday, October 12th at Fivay High School from 7-8pm.  This meeting is open to ALL parents…regardless if your child will play U8, U18 or somewhere in between, I highly encourage you to attend this meeting.

We will introduce coaches, practice facilities, tournament schedules, tryout info, and oh yeah, fees!!

I hope to see you there and please feel free to send any questions that you may have ahead of time.  I would also appreciate it if you can pass the word of this meeting along to any friends who may be even slightly interested in participation in the program.

Please visit the FORUM section of our website.  It’s a new area that was developed for parents to have a place to communicate with each other in an open forum.  There is currently a post on the Forum regarding carpooling.  I encourage everyone to utilize this feature in an effort to make your life a little easier.

Also, I will keep the Events Calendar up to date, but any email I send regarding scheduling will always trump what the calendar says.  Our first practice will be at Seven Springs Middle in Trinity on 12/2 for EVERY team from 630-830pm.  We will then start our regular practices during the week of December 6-10.

We do plan to hold 2 practices over Christmas Break (after New Years).  We have a tournament on January 7/8 so we need to prepare as much as possible before hand.  Any practices that we hold will be between January 3-6.

Before you check the teams, PLEASE read the following:

1.  THERE IS A MANDATORY MEETING FOR THOSE WHO ARE SELECTED ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 29TH FROM 7:00-7:45PM AT MITCHELL HIGH SCHOOL.  YOU WILL BE ASKED TO SIGN A COMMITMENT FORM WITH THE WOLF PACK AND PAY THE FIRST ($125 FOR REG WOLF PACK), AND ($200 FOR WOLF PACK BLACK).

-We are holding a Late Tryout on Tues, 11/30.  Any parents/players who haven’t signed and paid the first payment by 11/29, will NOT have a guaranteed spot in the club.  If you cannot make the meeting but you can sign/pay prior to that, we can make arrangements on an individual basis.

2.  YOU MAY NOTICE THAT SOME OF THE YOUNGER TEAMS HAVE 11 PLAYERS ON THEIR ROSTER WHILE SOME OF THE OLDER TEAMS ONLY HAVE 8 OR 9 PLAYERS.  WE ARE LEAVING SPACE TO POTENTIALLY HAVE PLAYERS MOVE UP.  THEREFORE, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THESE ROSTERS MAY CHANGE SLIGHTLY…BUT IF YOU HAVE BEEN SELECTED, YOU ARE GUARANTEED TO BE ON A TEAM THIS SEASON.  DON’T WORRY, WE WON’T MOVE PLAYERS “DOWN” OR OFF OF A BLACK TEAM TO A REGULAR TEAM (UNLESS YOU REQUEST THAT WE DO).  THE GOAL IS TO HAVE 10 PLAYERS ON EACH TEAM.

3.  LASTLY, PLEASE UNDERSTAND HOW DIFFICULT THESE DECISIONS WERE TO MAKE.  IT HAS BEEN ALL I’VE THOUGHT ABOUT SINCE SUNDAY.  THE COACHES HAD TWO MEETINGS AND COUNTLESS PHONE CALLS SINCE THEN.  POINT IS, WE THOUGHT ABOUT (AND DEBATED…AND ARGUED) THESE ROSTERS VERY THOROUGHLY.  IF YOUR DAUGHTER DID NOT MAKE THE CLUB, I UNDERSTAND THAT YOU ARE UPSET.  I ALSO UNDERSTAND THAT SOME GIRLS ARE NOT GOING TO BE THRILLED WITH THEIR PLACEMENTS, BUT WE (9 COACHES) FEEL THIS IS THE BEST SITUATION FOR THE CLUB.  WE HAVE TO KEEP THE INTEGRITY OF THE CLUB IN MIND WHEN MAKING TEAMS.  WE ALSO NEED GIRLS FROM EACH POSITION FOR EACH TEAM. WITH THIS IN MIND, I RESPECTFULLY ASK THAT YOU CONSIDER THE POTENTIALLY NEGATIVE EMAILS THAT YOU MAY BE TEMPTED TO WRITE.

THE GOAL OF THE WOLF PACK IS TO RAISE THE QUALITY OF VOLLEYBALL IN THIS AREA AND TO GIVE GIRLS AN AFFORDABLE PLACE TO PLAY.  WE DON’T WANT TO CUT PLAYERS, BUT WE DON’T HAVE THE COACHES AND FACILITIES TO KEEP EVERYONE.

I am excited to announce that we have almost 70 current subscribers to the Wolf Pack website.  With that being the case, I figured I should post some news…

Over the past month, we held two middle school tryouts and selected 36 players.  These girls range from 11-14 years old and will ultimately be the future of the Wolf Pack.

Our High School girls (who are the reason the club started in the first place) will have their tryouts on Sunday, Nov 21 and Monday, Nov 22.  Times and age levels will be posted soon.

It looks as though the Wolf Pack will field 8 teams! this season.  We developed a U13 and two U14 teams from the middle school group.  We will likely add a U15, U15Black, U16Black, U17, U17Black.  Keep in mind that we won’t know what teams we will build until tryouts, but this is a good prediction.  Therefore, we’d have:

U13, U14, U14, U15, U15B, U16B, U17, U17B.

And yes, I do have 8 coaches who you will meet soon.  Stay tuned for a parent meeting in early November.

The Summer Beach Schedule is current.  Please take a look at it when you get a chance.  Please note a few things:

1.  The groups will swap times (early/late) at the start of July and then again at the start of Aug. to make it fair for both groups.

2.  I am runnng a Wolf Pack Summer Camp from 6/28-7/01.  I am happy to work with the Beach players in the afternoons that week.  I figured that since this is the week leading to 4th of July, many of you may be out of town anyway.

3.  I am out of town at the end of July.  There is a Rox Tournament at the end of my trip which I will attend.  Teams may want to practice on their own that week to prepare.  I’ll be in Key West if anyone wants to join me!!!!!!!

Thanks again for supporting the Wolf Pack Beach Program.  We will be the biggest and best Jr Beach Program in the Florida before too long!!!!

I am also proud to mention that we are ranked above several local club teams that happen to charge a lot more money…I won’t mention any names!!  As always, thanks for supporting the Wolf Pack.
